Benefit corporation status has advantages for employers and HR

From Benefit corporations, most simply, combine the "greater good" and social purpose of a non-profit organization with the freedom to create and distribute profit among members and shareholders. With 25 states thus far signing legislation to recognize benefit corporation status, clearly there are benefits to employers for registering as a benefit corporation. The concept of benefit corporations and one of the advantages of registering-legal freedom to pursue goals beyond shareholder profit-are explained in part 1 of this article.
